How To Become A Christian
If you died today, would you be ready to meet GOD? If you answered "no" or you are unsure, then today can be your day to make the most important decision you can ever make in life. Why do you need the LORD JESUS CHRIST in your life? Because HE is the only way to eternal life (John 14:6), and without HIM, there is no life. Romans 3:23 says, "for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" and sin is transgression of GOD's law, which separates us from GOD (Isaiah 59:2), and if GOD is life, and we're separated from HIM (LIFE), that means only death awaits for us. If you would like to make the most important decision you can ever make in your life (receiving JESUS CHRIST as your LORD and SAVIOR), then below are a few easy steps in to doing so, along with a prayer for you, and some helpful steps to help deepen your relationship with GOD. If you do these three easy steps listed below, you will be Saved.
1. Believe:
Believe that JESUS CHRIST died for your sins, was buried and raised from the dead. Romans 10:9 says, "that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.", and John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
2. Receive:
Ask the Lord JESUS CHRIST to come into your life. Romans 6:23 tells us "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.", and JESUS says in Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
3. Confess:
Acknowledge that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 tells us, "for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
Once you have done that, you will be Saved and from there you can begin your new life in HIM. Once you begin your new life in HIM, it doesn't mean the road will be easy but what it does mean is that the road will be worth it. Now some people teach that you have to do works to get Saved, which simply isn't true, as that can't be found anywhere in GOD's WORD. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us "8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast." Salvation is simply given freely by GOD alone, through HIS Son's ultimate, loving, sacrifice on the cross; HIS blood shed (John 3:16-18). It is HIS grace which we then receive by faith, as we have done nothing to earn it, and once we have done just that, then we are to carry out good works which is the evidence of our Salvation. So in other words, we don't do works to get Saved, but because we're Saved, we do works (James 2:26), and that simply means living accordingly to HIS WORD (the BIBLE) each day, carrying out the good examples in which CHRIST brought forth, walking in HIS ways in our new life in HIM. James 2:26 tells us "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." In other words, good works is the evidence of our faith.
A Prayer For You:
Dear LORD JESUS, I know that I am a sinner and that I need YOUR forgiveness. I believe that YOU died for my sins and so today I want to repent of them. I now invite YOU into my life as my LORD and SAVIOR. So help me LORD to start doing things YOUR way and help me to be more like YOU. Help lead, guide, direct, and touch me as I start my new life in YOU. In your precious, holy, name JESUS I pray, amen.
If you prayed this prayer, the BIBLE tells us in Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life in CHRIST. To help deepen your new relationship, you should:
1. Turn from your sins as sin separates us from GOD (Isaiah 59:2).
2. Pray daily (see Philippians 4:6, 1 Thessalonians 5:17), which is simply spending time talking to GOD and telling HIM how you feel, and thanking HIM for all that HE's blessed us with.
3. Read and study your BIBLE daily (2 Timothy 2:15), whereby you can be suited up with the whole Gospel Armor (Ephesians 6:11-18), so that you can be prepared if you happen to be one living during the last days with the great deception to come (Revelation 13). As it's written in John 1, CHRIST is the living WORD, and so if we're without HIS WORD, then in essence, we're without HIM.
4. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians (Matthew 18:20).
5. Get Baptized, as it symbolizes your old life has died, and you've come out of the water as a new creation in CHRIST (Acts 2:38).
6. Tell others about CHRIST (Matthew 28:19-20).
7. Demonstrate your new life by showing love and concern for others (1 John 4:20).
