The Garden of Eden
One of the most well known stories in the Bible is the Garden of Eden. Many people know about it but very few actually understand it. Most are taught from an early age that Eve ate an apple and then gave some to Adam, but the truth is, apples have nothing to do with the sin committed at all, nor any fruit in which you might think of today. Below, we'll go ahead and begin in Genesis 3.
Genesis 3
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
As we all know, snakes don't talk and neither was this some sort of special snake that was in the garden of Eden either. The word "serpent" is a name used to describe satan as Revelation 12:9 documents, "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." After all, he is always trying to twist GOD's WORD into deceiving others, just like he is in this verse. In Ezekiel 28:12-13, it also talks about Tyrus (= [false] rock), which is another name for satan being in the garden of Eden, as we read here. satan is described as "subtle" which means cunning (usually in a bad sense as described here) because he is very wise; he thinks he is better than anyone else including GOD, which is what led to his downfall in the first world age.
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
As you know if you're familiar with the previous chapter (Genesis 2), this tree mentioned of here is talking about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which is the tree GOD commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from, nor touch. In the Bible, there contains many places in Scripture where figures of speech are used, and in quite a few of those places, it describes people as trees. In Jeremiah 17:7-8, it says "7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." In Matthew 7:15-20, JESUS said "15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." Besides these two verses, there are many others which describe us as trees too, but as we can see from the example we just read, every corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit, and in the end that tree will be hewn down and cast into the fire, just as satan himself will be, and all who follow him. So remember, we have the TREE of LIFE in this garden and we have the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Who is it that gives and brings forth life? It is GOD/CHRIST (see John 14:6). And who is it that brings forth evil? Obviously satan. And remember from above, satan is already described as a cunning, snake, who deceives the whole world, as he knows right from wrong, but yet choses to do wrong. So just as GOD has many titles, positions/roles, and traits, so does satan but in the negative aspect. In Hosea 14:8, GOD even describes HIMself as a tree: "Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found." A fir tree (i.e. an evergreen tree) keeps it's color all season long, even throughout the Winter, which is the dead season of plant life, and evergreen symbolizes immortality/eternal life, which is exactly what GOD is, and provides. satan however only offers sin, lies, and death, as he knows his time is limited and his goal is to take as many as he can with him in to the lake of fire. So it should be no doubt as to who these trees figuratively represent (GOD/CHRIST [TREE of LIFE], and satan [tree of knowledge of good & evil]).
Now to get back to the main subject, remember GOD told Adam and Eve not to even "touch" the tree of the knowledge of good and evil either. That word "touch" as translated into English, comes from the Hebrew word "nâgaʻ", and it means to deceive but euphemistically it refers to the act of lying with a woman (i.e. sexual relations). In 2 Corinthians 11, Paul warns us to remain chaste (spiritually speaking) unto CHRIST, for our coming wedding ceremony with HIM at HIS return. In other words, he doesn't want us turning away to false gods which would result in us committing idolatry (spiritual adultery) with GOD, and he certainly doesn't want us to take the wrong bride either (i.e. the son of perdition/antichrist); who will appear first, before our TRUE CHRIST, disguised as the god/savior of the world in these ends times (see 2 Thessalonians 2, Revelation 13). In verse three of 2 Corinthians 11, it says "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." That very word "beguiled", comes from the Greek word "exapatáō" and means "to seduce wholly". So as we can see, we have a double witness. Here in Genesis 3, it euphemistically refers to lying with a woman (i.e. sexual relations), and in 2 Corinthians 11, it means "wholly seduced", which explains why Paul warns us in the spiritual sense to remain chaste unto CHRIST, and not to be seduced by satan [spiritually] as Eve was [physically]. Remember, in 1 Corinthians 10:11, Paul told us "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come." In other words, many of the things which happened in the Old Testament were types and ensamples (i.e. examples) for us today, whereby we could see how the end of times would play out in the spiritual sense, and whereby we could be prepared.
Something also to note is the word "tree" that's used in verse 3 above, is translated from the Hebrew word "ʻêts" (H6086) which comes from the Hebrew word "'atsah" (H6095), which is a primitive root; properly, to fasten (or make firm), i.e. to close (the eyes):—shut. Also 'atseh (H6096) which is another Hebrew word in the Bible, comes from that word "'atsah" (H6095) and means "the spine (as giving firmness to the body):—backbone."
We already saw in a couple of places where the Bible describes us as trees, and when you think about it, what happens if someone loses a finger, arm, leg, etc.? It's known as losing a limb. Think of our spine as being the trunk, and our arms and legs as being the limbs. In Mark 8:24 when JESUS healed the blind man, the first thing the blind man whose vision was being restored said was "... I see men as trees, walking."
As we all know, snakes don't talk and neither was this some sort of special snake that was in the garden of Eden either. The word "serpent" is a name used to describe satan as Revelation 12:9 documents, "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." 4 And the serpent (= satan) said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
John 8:44 tells us that satan is the father of lies, so it should be no surprise that he's lying here by telling Eve that she will become like GOD if she eats of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It should be noted also that the word "eat" is translated from the Hebrew word "ʼâkal" and can refer literally or figuratively. Obviously from what's taking place in this chapter, we know it's figuratively speaking for what they're about to do.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Notice that they were naked here and sewed fig leaves to make themselves aprons. As we all know, an apron covers your lower body, not your mouth, and in this case they made an apron to cover their nakedness. Before they were naked and were unashamed of it (Genesis 2:25), but now they've partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (satan) and have now become ashamed of their nakedness and are trying to cover it. Why else would they be ashamed of their nakedness if their sin was eating an apple? After all, the word "apple" is not even mentioned anywhere in this chapter or anywhere else in the Bible when it comes to topic of Adam and Eve's sin in the Garden of Eden. Now some people might wonder how could Adam possibly have committed the same sin as Eve did? Perhaps it was a threesome with satan giving Adam advice, and Eve being the center of attention or either he participated in a homosexual act. Either way as scripture states, he participated in it as well in some way. In Ezekiel 28, it is written that satan was one of the most beautiful created, as it says he was "perfect in beauty". So it would be no surprise as to why they found him attractive, and the fact that satan was not formed out of the dust, as flesh man was, he would still have all the knowledge from his downfall that took place prior to flesh man's creation.
8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
Remember GOD had already gave Adam literal fruit trees and plants to maintain as he was a tiller of the soil (see Genesis 2:9), however we know GOD (the TREE of LIFE) was also in the garden, as well as satan too (the serpent/tree of knowledge of good & evil).
9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
GOD obviously knew where Adam was but was asking this question to get his attention.
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
Adam not only blames Eve here, but brings it back on GOD too ("the woman whom THOU gavest to be with me").
13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
This would be a statement of degradation that satan would never rise above the rank of a snake. Compare to Psalm 44:25. Adam and Eve were the start of CHRIST's genealogy. satan very well knew this and that is why he went on with the act, and deceived Adam and Eve because it was his attempt at disrupting/polluting the pure seed line by which CHRIST couldn't be born. As we all know though, his plan didn't succeed. We'll also see him try again in Genesis 6, by using the fallen angels to intermix with the daughters of Adam and Eve, which is why only Noah's family were the only Adamic people saved from the flood, as he had a perfect pedigree (Genesis 6:9).
15 and I will put enmity (= hatred) between thee and the woman, and between thy seed (= offspring) and her seed (= offspring); it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Here we see there will be a division between satan's offspring and Eve's offspring; Eve's offspring will eventually bring forth JESUS who will ultimately crush satan's head in the end, whereas satan would eventually cause CHRIST's heel to be bruised with the cross, when he entered into Judas Iscariot (Luke 22:3), which caused JESUS to be crucified.
16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Notice Eve wasn't given a belly ache for eating too many apples but rather GOD disciplined her with greater pregnancy and birth pains.
17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18 thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
Remember, Adam and Eve were the start of JESUS' genealogy and eventually through her would come CHRIST, and only by HIM are all living and have the opportunity of Salvation.
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
These coats of skins likely came from an animal sacrifice which not only would cover their physical bodies but also cover their sin as well, as a death sacrifice is required for sin, which JESUS HIMself later fulfilled.
22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Think about how innocent children are, which is basically the same mindset of Adam and Eve before their fall; as they were naked and unashamed, and didn't even know what sin was until they were lured away into temptation by satan.
Again, GOD/CHRIST was and is the TREE of LIFE; HE was in the garden of Eden just as satan was, but in no way though was the word "touch" used when it talks about partaking of HIM; instead the word is "take". Only TRUE righteousness and the WORD of SALVATION can be partaken/obtained from HIM. Instead of Adam and Eve partaking of the TREE of LIFE (GOD) and receiving righteousness, they chose to partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (satan) by having intercourse. "Take" and "touch" are two completely different words, with two completely different meanings both in the English and Hebrew. So DO NOT think that GOD was telling them to commit the same act they did with satan, with HIM. So again with the TREE of LIFE (CHRIST), they could have chose to receive righteousness but instead they partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (satan) and received punishments. Always listen to GOD because HE is our eternal life in CHRIST. Through no other can we be Saved. See Acts 4:12.
23 therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
CHRIST is the only WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, no one else. See John 14:6. We should be living for HIM everyday. Below, we'll continue with the next chapter.

Genesis 4
1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
Reading this verse alone and without understanding, it appears that Adam is the biological father of Cain, but remember we already read that GOD would put hatred between the serpent's offspring and Eve's offspring. As you will see, verse 2 connects with this verse.
2 And she again (= yâçaph) bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Notice this verse doesn't say "And Adam knew his wife again, and she bare his brother Abel", but instead it just says "And she again bare his brother Abel.", which continues off from the previous verse. That very word "again" as translated into English, in the Hebrew means "to continue to do a thing" or "proceed further". So put two and two together for a moment. If Eve just gave birth to Cain and continued to do a thing, in this case give birth, it can only mean one thing, which is Cain and Abel were twins. And yes it is possible for twins to come from two separate fathers; Cain being the biological son of satan, while Abel being the biological son of Adam. The scientific term for this is called "heteropaternal superfecundation" and even happens today. Cain was the offspring of satan while Abel was the offspring of Adam, which will explain why Cain is so mean below. Now as we continue through this chapter, as we get near the end, you'll see that Cain's genealogy is listed, and the following chapter (Genesis 5) Adam's genealogy will be listed, and Cain is left out? Surely if Cain was Adam's biological child, he would have been listed in Adam's genealogy but he's not. In 1 Chronicles 1, Adam's genealogy is also mentioned again, and Cain is also not listed in it there either. In the book of Jude, verse 14, it tells us that Enoch is the 7th after Adam: "And Enoch also, the seventh from (apó = after) Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints," Adam (the first generation of the Adamic race), Seth (the 2nd generation), Enos (the 3rd), Cainan (the 4th), Mahalaleel (the 5th), Jared (the 6th), Enoch (the 7th). So to those who would like to argue and say Cain was Adam's biological child, either you're wrong or the Bible (GOD's letter) is wrong? Surely it isn't the Bible as we know HIS WORD is perfect in it's original language that it was written in. That is why it's important that we know verse two is in correlation and continuation to verse 1. Yes Adam did know his wife and she conceived and brought forth a child (Abel), but satan also being involved from the last chapter, and GOD telling satan HE would put enmity between his offspring and her offspring, along with sentencing Eve to greater pain in childbirth should clear up any confusion or denial. Eve already conceived as a result of the last chapter, and after Adam knew her as well, she conceived from him, and then she gave birth to Cain and continued in labor until Abel was born.
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Why? Because Abel gave his best offering whereas Cain didn't; instead he just picked up whatever was laying on the ground. Today, our sacrifice to GOD is our time that we give HIM, and what we do to further HIS kingdom, and when HE knows we give our best, and try our best to do what's right, it makes HIS day, but when HE knows we don't give or try our best, how do you think it makes HIM feel?
5 but unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth (i.e. angry), and his countenance fell.
6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
1 John 3:11-15 says, "11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. 13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. 14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." And so it is. Here we see further evidence of who Cain's the offspring of; who is the wicked one? It is satan, and him being the biological child of satan certainly wasn't shy from carrying out his works.
9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother (clearly a rhetorical question)? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
Clearly lying is another trait that Cain has from his father (satan).
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;
Our HEAVENLY FATHER knows all things, and certainly there is nothing we can hide from HIM.
12 when thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Cain has the nerve to murder his own brother and then complains that he's been given too hard of a punishment.
14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.
According to church tradition, the only people yet alive at this time are Adam, Eve, and Cain, as Abel is now dead, so ask yourself this question: "who are all these other people out there who would possibly want to slay Cain?" This is a question that many can't answer but if you've read our study "Did We All Come From Adam & Eve?", then you'll know.
15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
As we can see, Cain went unto another land (Nod) and found him a wife which documents there were other people on earth at this time as well, and she clearly wasn't his sister as some believe, as Adam and Eve won't have another child until the end of this chapter. As we continue, you'll notice many of Cain's descendants have very similar names to Adam's descendants as we'll see in the next chapter; some even the same as in Enoch. Perhaps that's so we can compare the difference between those of satan's offspring, from those of Adam's offspring, in which JESUS would eventually come through; HIS linage is given in Luke 3 and also documents these people (including Cain) listed here in these verses are not of HIS and Adam's genealogy.
18 And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech.
Enoch in the Hebrew means "dedicated". Irad means "fleet". Mehujael means "smitten by GOD". Methusael means "who is of GOD". Lamech means "powerful".
19 And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
Adah means "ornament (beautiful)" and Zillah means "shade".
20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.
Jabal means "stream of water".
21 And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.
Jubal means "music".
22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubal-cain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
Tubalcain means "brought of Cain". Naamah means "loveliness".
23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.
Though Scripture doesn't say who these two men were, it is believed by some according to other books that one of them was Cain and the other was Lamech's son Tubalcain, and that Lamech accidentally killed them while he was out hunting and received mental wounds, hence "to my wounding", and "a young man to my hurt." which might explain why Lamech brings up Cain in the next verse. It also could just simply mean that Lamech went out and murdered two people as Cain did to Abel, and as a result he received physical wounds before he killed them but feels the need to boast about it by bringing up Cain's sevenfold vengeance.
24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
25 And Adam knew his wife again (= ʻôwd); and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
Here we see the next child that Adam and Eve had, who is a substitute for Abel that was murdered. The name "Seth" even means "substituted". In the Hebrew, this word "again" as we see here in English, isn't the same as the "again (yâçaph)" we saw earlier at the beginning of this chapter that meant "to continue to do a thing". Instead this word "again (ʻôwd)" refers to repeating a process, which is to have another child. If Cain and Abel weren't twins, then we should have seen this statement ("And Adam knew his wife again...") in verse two for Abel's birth but we didn't, and also we should have seen this Hebrew word "ʻôwd" used above but it wasn't. From this verse forward in to the next chapter documents Adam's genealogy.
26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
Enos means "mortal man" or "frail, incurable".
Genesis 5
1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
Again, if Cain was Adam's biological son, he would have been listed before Seth but he wasn't. The only reason Abel wasn't listed is because he was murdered before he had an offspring.
4 and the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5 and all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
7 and Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
8 and all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
9 And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:
Cainan means "a possession".
10 and Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:
11 and all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.
12 And Cainan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalaleel:
Mahalaleel means "praise of GOD".
13 and Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:
14 and all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.
15 And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:
16 and Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters:
Jared means "descent".
17 and all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died.
18 And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:
19 and Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
20 and all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.
21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
Methuselah means "man of the dart".
22 and Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 and all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 and Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Note that this Enoch was a very good person, who walked with GOD, and preached for GOD. As you can see here, he becomes the first one to be transfigured. So instead of dying in this flesh, Enoch was instead translated or transfigured into a spiritual body (immortal body). Remember Enoch is also the 7th generation after Adam and it will be at the 7th trumpet in these end times, which is the last trumpet, that all will be transformed/transfigured into their spiritual body as that is when JESUS returns (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). Seven in Biblical numerics represents spiritual completeness.
25 And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:
26 and Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:
27 and all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
29 and he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.
Noah means "rest, comfort, or consolation".
30 And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:
31 and all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.
32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Shem means "name", Ham means "hot", and Japheth means "expansion".
2 male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

9 And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:
Cainan means "a possession".
10 and Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:
11 and all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.

Shem means "name", Ham means "hot", and Japheth means "expansion".
Things To Consider:
So now that we've taken a deeper look into what really happened in the garden of Eden, how logical is it to assume that Eve and Adam received knowledge of good and evil from eating a literal piece of fruit from a literal tree? After all, consider the fact they became ashamed of their nakedness, made aprons to hide their nakedness, and that GOD told the serpent and Eve that HE would put hatred between their offspring, and considering Eve was given greater pain in pregnancy and child birth, and that Cain's not listed in Adam's genealogy. Though this study may have been a bit shocking, it should always remind us to stay alert and to be on guard at all times of the lies, traps, and things the enemy (satan) will try to use to deceive us with in our lives today, just as he did with Adam and Eve. Always listen to GOD's guidance through the power of HIS HOLY SPIRIT. James 4:7 tells us, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
