This Thanksgiving as we look forward to spending time with family and friends, we realize that Thanksgiving is a lot more than just sitting around a table eating and talking, it's about giving thanks and sharing our most memorable moments with one another. For some, Thanksgiving is more about spending time watching football, than it is spending time with family, and for others, it's a whole different level. As you start off this Thanksgiving, start it off fresh in the word of God. For when we do this, we will begin to realize how important Thanksgiving really is; not only in our physical life but also in our spiritual life too. So as you start off your Thanksgiving, from the second you first wake up, open yourself up to the word of God and ask Him to guide you throughout your day and ask Him to reveal to your heart, the importance of Thanksgiving. If you do this, you won't have to worry whether or not your day will be good or not, you will already know for a fact that your day will go just fine. Philippians 4:6-7 says Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. If you believe what you are reading and have faith in the presence of God, your day will go just fine.
The importance of Thanksgiving, is that we do not just look at what's on the table but rather we look into each one's heart. Everyone has at least one thing to be thankful for, no matter what health situation they may be in. As you begin your day, tell at least five people something you are thankful for, whether it's family, friends, pets, or just being alive. God knows each and everyone of our hearts and whether or not we mean what we say, so as you tell others about the things you are thankful for, be sure to mention Jesus because without Jesus, we would not be who we are today as children of God. There would be no hope, no joy, no peace and worst of all, there would be no reason to give thanks but because of Jesus, we will always have something to be thankful for, and that is He saved us because of His death on the cross. He took our punishment upon Himself so that we could spend eternity in Heaven with Him one day, as long as we believe and trust in Him. It is our duty this Thanksgiving to owe everything we have to Him because He is truly worthy of it all.
We hereby stand with the Lord on this very special day. That we may spread the peace of God, with family and friends. If you would like to, pray this prayer below and ask God to guide you in the way that you shall go and He will. He loves you and He has the most awesome plan for your life. Have a great Thanksgiving and may God Bless you and your family throughout this day. Always remember that Jesus loves you and that you can talk to Him at anytime of the day; He will listen.
Dear Jesus, thank you for allowing us another day to be alive, and to all of the families who have recently lost loved ones. Help refresh them with your peace and love and help remind them who you truly are. That you are a God of love, hope, joy and promises and that you stay true to your word. For we love you dear God, thank you again for all that you do for us, each and every single day. Help us Lord, to reunite the families who are spiritually dead and help them Lord to understand all that you have in store for them. For we love you dear God, thank you again for all that you have Blessed us with. Help us Father to continue to serve you, no matter what obstacles we may face in life. We love you Lord and we thank you for taking the time to hear our prayers. Help guide us in our everyday lives and help us Lord, to do everything in your will. In Christ's name we pray. Amen. Thank you Jesus.
