Important notice: Always check out what you hear and see for yourself, as it is up to you as a Christian to do your own studying. Never take anyone's word alone, including this website here, without first always checking it out for yourself. As 2 Timothy 2:15 says "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Exodus 10
1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:
Again, the whole reason for this hardening of the Pharaoh's heart is so that GOD can perform all HIS signs amongst these people, whereby not only will the children of Israel come out but also so the Egyptians will turn from their wicked ways as well and towards GOD.
2 And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
Remember in 1 Corinthians 10:11, it tells us that all these things which have happened of old, were done as types and examples for us living today. These examples are what help prepare GOD's elect for what is to come in these end times. This is also repeated in Joel 1:1-5.
3 And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
4 Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
Although these are literal locust here as with the other nine plagues GOD is bringing forth in front of these people, these locusts are a type of example for what we shall see in these end times today, as satan's locust army (fallen angels) will come to earth and spiritually devour most of the world through deception, along with satan himself when he appears as that son of perdition/antichrist. See also: 2 Thessalonians 2, Revelation 9, Revelation 13.
5 And they shall cover the face of the earth (ʼerets in Hebrew), that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:
In Matthew 13:38 concerning JESUS' time and our time today, JESUS used the word "field" to symbolize the world and as we know from many other uses in Scripture, we as people are figuratively described as trees (Matthew 7:15-20, Mark 8:22-24, Jeremiah 17:7-8, Psalm 1:1-3, Psalm 52:8), so just as these locust devoured these literal trees here, so will satan's locust army (fallen angels) devour most of humanity spiritually in these end times through deception.
6 And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.
When you examine most "Christians" today, many of them are only playing church because they like the experience of going somewhere once a week to hear a sugar-coated, motivational speech, and then they live the rest of the week as the rest of the world does (lukewarm/lost), never taking any time to do their own homework to check their pastor out as they should be doing (2 Timothy 2:15, Ephesians 6:11); it is those people in which satan and his locust army will have no problem devouring in these end times, as they make themselves easy prey because they don't have the seal of GOD in their foreheads (minds). "For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together (Matthew 24:28)".
7 And Pharaoh's servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
8 And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?
9 And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
10 And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
This is a threat by the Pharaoh that if Moses and Aaron take the little ones with them, then they're going to pay an evil, awful price (i.e. death).
11 Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.
In other words, the Pharaoh is willing to let Moses and Aaron go but is not willing to let everyone else go with them.
12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.
13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14 And the locust went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
15 For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
17 Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.
Just like many people today, they like to call upon the LORD during troubles and hard times but once things get better and life seems to return to normal for them, they leave GOD out of the picture and turn back to their evil and worldly ways. If you only want GOD in the hard times, then don't expect to have any inheritance in the Kingdom of Heaven. You either love HIM or you don't, and those who truly love HIM will call upon HIM, thank HIM, and talk to HIM at all times, not just the bad times.
18 And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.
19 And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.
20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
So here we see the ninth plague which is darkness and just as darkness covered this land of Egypt in this timeframe, so will it cover our timeframe spiritually in these end times, as the prince of darkness (satan) will completely darken the world (spiritually) at his arrival in these end times. Joel 2:2 also speaks of it. Note that near the end of satan's time ruling, he will murder GOD's two witnesses as it's written in Revelation 11:7-12, and it will be those two witnesses of GOD who will lay in the streets three days and a half, until GOD raises them from the dead. So again we see in this book previews of what is to occur in these end times spiritually.
23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
And so will it be with us as GOD's elect in these end times, as we are the light (Matthew 5:14, 1 Thessalonians 5:5) who have the Seal of GOD in our forehead (minds), as GOD always takes care of HIS own, which is why we have absolutely nothing to fear at that time, as GOD has given us power over satan and all evilness (Luke 10:19). Just as GOD brought Noah and his family through the flood, Lot and his daughters through the destruction of Sodom, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego through the fiery furnace, and Daniel through the lions den, so will HE bring us through the tribulation of antichrist (satan) at that time. That is why JESUS said in Matthew 24:13 "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved".
24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
As we can see, the Pharaoh still wasn't willing to let the Israelites fully go and serve GOD.
25 And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.
26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
27 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.
28 And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
29 And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.
Again, the whole reason for this hardening of the Pharaoh's heart is so that GOD can perform all HIS signs amongst these people, whereby not only will the children of Israel come out but also so the Egyptians will turn from their wicked ways as well and towards GOD.
