Important notice: Always check out what you hear and see for yourself, as it is up to you as a Christian to do your own studying. Never take anyone's word alone, including this website here, without first always checking it out for yourself. As 2 Timothy 2:15 says "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Exodus 13
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.
In the last chapter, GOD had destroyed the Egyptians first born and all those who did not have the blood of the lamb over their doorposts and now HE's claiming the firstborn of all the Israelites and beast, as they will be used in HIS service.
3 And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.
Remember, leavened bread (bread made with raising agents) symbolizes sin and is not to be part of the Passover/LORD's supper.
4 This day came ye out in the month Abib.
Abib, also known as Nisan, is the beginning of the true new year on GOD's calendar as it begins with Spring, which symbolizes new life. It is fourteen days later, at evening, that we are to take Communion, as Passover begins on the fifteenth day, which is something you want to always remember.
5 And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
As written in verse fourteen of the last chapter "And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever". This is exactly why we are to keep Passover and take Communion today, regardless of what the rest of the world and religious community teaches because it is commanded by our HEAVENLY FATHER and this was eventually fulfilled by CHRIST HIMself as HE became our Passover Lamb and High Sabbath. For more information on how to remember Passover and how to take Communion, please see "Passover and Communion". It's crazy how so many "Christians" and "churches" today are so willing to participate and embrace the world's pagan (heathen) holidays, which GOD forbids, and yet refuse to recognize and acknowledge the Holy days in which GOD commands. Biblical CHRISTianity is unpopular whereas popular "Christianity" is unbiblical but as prophesied in Scripture, it would be exactly this way in these end times. That is exactly why it is up to you to study to show yourself approved unto GOD (2 Timothy 2:15) because the majority will be led into satan's one world beast system of deception (Babylon of these end times) because they would rather follow tradition instead of the TRUTH of GOD's WORD. 1 Corinthians 5:6-7 says "Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:"; that is exactly why you don't play church like the rest of the world but instead be the church and live sincerely unto the LORD, as to play church is leaven (sin).
6 Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD.
7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.
A reminder to keep sin away and out of your household and surroundings. When you think about this today, it can be easy for people to let it in based on what they allow through the radio, internet, or T.V.
8 And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt (symbolic of bondage).
As a parent, it is your job to teach your children the TRUTH and to align them with the right path (CHRIST), unlike the majority of parents today who teach their children fables and lie to them; it's no wonder why so many kids today end up on the wrong path. Proverbs 22:6 says "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it".
9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand (i.e. in your actions), and for a memorial between thine eyes (i.e. in your brain/mind [the Seal of GOD]), that the LORD's law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.
10 Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.
When you think of everything that GOD has done for us, including Passover that is mentioned here, which CHRIST later fulfilled through HIS ultimate blood sacrifice on the cross, it isn't too much to ask for that we remember and honor HIM today. Remember, those who obey GOD receive HIS blessings, and those who obey HIM and keep HIS commandments are the ones who truly love HIM (John 14:15). Again, see "Passover and Communion" for more information on how we are to do this today.
11 And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,
12 That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD's.
13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.
In other words, an ass is considered an unclean animal, symbolic of labor, and is not fit for sacrifice. At that time, GOD required for every firstling of an ass to be replaced with a lamb, and if there was no lamb, then the ass's neck was to be broken whereby it couldn't be used for work, nor sacrifice. As far as redemption goes, when you think about this today, all those who are not redeemed in the LORD (CHRIST), who do not follow and love HIM, will ultimately perish from within and go into the lake of fire, which is the second death (death of the soul). Just as the people's sins were passed on to an animal (lamb), so were our sins passed on to the LAMB (CHRIST) HIMself when HE went to the cross.
14 And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:
15 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt (i.e. the ones who didn't have the lamb's blood over their doorposts), both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.
And so it is, GOD redeems them because they are HIS. The death of the firstborn of Egypt was symbolic of the third of GOD's children who will be slain spiritually in these end times, who have the mark of the beast (satan); a lot of them will be redeemed during the Millennium and if not, they will perish in the lake of fire.
16 And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.
Again, symbolizing those who have the Seal [in-depth TRUTH] of GOD in their foreheads (minds). Compare and notice the contrast to that described in Revelation 13:16, concerning those who receive the mark of the beast (satan). See also: Revelation 9:4-5.
17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
In other words, there was a shortcut back to the land of Canaan but GOD is leading the children of Israel through a longer way, whereby they don't go to war with the Philistines. GOD did this because HE knew if the Israelites came in contact with those people that they would go rushing back into the land of Egypt (bondage).
18 But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
As we will see, GOD is going to test HIS children to see who will remain faithful to HIM and who will not, just as HE will do in these end times as well.
19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
Fulfilling Genesis 50:25.
20 And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham (= bounded by the sea), in the edge of the wilderness.
21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
And again, GOD always takes care of HIS own. See also: John 8:12, Hebrews 12:29, 1 Thessalonians 4:17, Hebrews 12:1.
2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.
