Important notice: Always check out what you hear and see for yourself, as it is up to you as a Christian to do your own studying. Never take anyone's word alone, including this website here, without first always checking it out for yourself. As 2 Timothy 2:15 says "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Exodus 3
1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro (a title of Reuel) his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb (= desolate).
2 And the angel of the LORD (i.e. the presence of GOD) appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
Same lesson as the "furnace" in Genesis 15:17.
3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
As it's written in Hebrew 12:29 "For our God is a consuming fire." To us as believers and followers of HIM, HIS presence warms and comforts us, but to the non-believers and the wicked, HIS presence makes uncomfortable and in the end, HE will consume the wicked when they stand before HIM. That's why you never want to leave HIS side because if you lose HIM, you've lost everything. Here we see an example of what took place with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3:16-30, as GOD was walking with them in the fire, and they were not harmed.
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
Perhaps he was afraid to look because at this time, it was believed by many that if you looked upon GOD, that you would die because HIS presence is so overwhelming, that you would probably have a heart attack standing in awe.
7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
GOD knows when HIS children are being mistreated, which is exactly why HE will deal with those who do the mistreating in the end. As Paul said in Romans 12:19, when he was quoting from the Song of Moses (Deuteronomy 32:35), "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord". And so it will be. Vengeance belongs to GOD and HE will handle your enemies and will deal with those who mistreat you.
8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.
This is exactly why you never have to question whether or not GOD hears your prayers because as you can see HE does. There is absolutely nothing you will ever face in life that HE can't bring you through. And just as HE will deliver HIS people from this great oppression at this time, so will HE do just that again with us today in these end times. The enemies time is limited. Stay faithful, remain chaste (spiritually speaking [2 Corinthians 11]) and endure unto the end as CHRIST would say in Matthew 24:13. As CHRISTians, we're can-do people, therefore we can cut it, as long as we keep trusting and walking close to HIM. Again, HE always provides a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13) and will deal with those who oppress HIS children.
10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?
12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.
Notice our FATHER's name is not "I was" or "I am who I might be", but instead "I AM THAT I AM"; that is because HE is the same yesterday, today, and forever more, and is the ALPHA and OMEGA (FIRST and FINAL [Revelation 22:13]), which is why you can always count on HIM. Never ever doubt what HE can do in your life. See also: James 1:6-7. Remember, JESUS (EMMANUEL) means "GOD with us" or "with us is GOD", which is why HE would say "I AM the BREAD of LIFE (John 6:35, John 6:41, John 6:48, John 6:51)", "I AM the LIGHT of the world (John 8:12)", "I AM the DOOR of the sheep (John 10:7, John 10:9)", "I AM the resurrection and the LIFE (John 11:25)", "I AM the GOOD SHEPHERD (John 10:11, John 10:14)", "I AM the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE (John 14:6)", "I AM the TRUE VINE (John 15:1, John 15:5)".
15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
And so it is today, GOD still hears, speaks, delivers and answers, to those who love, serve, and trust in HIM. How strong is your faith in FATHER?
16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:
17 And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.
18 And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
19 And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.
20 And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.
21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty.
In other words, they're going to leave wealthy.
22 But every woman shall borrow (= ask) of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels (= articles) of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.
And so it is. The children of Israel will come out wealthy for all the hard work and harsh working conditions they have had to endure through the years. Again, GOD always takes care of HIS own.
