Important notice: Always check out what you hear and see for yourself, as it is up to you as a Christian to do your own studying. Never take anyone's word alone, including this website here, without first always checking it out for yourself. As 2 Timothy 2:15 says "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Genesis 8
1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;
Asswaged (shâkak) means subsided.
2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.
The end of that five month period mentioned in the last chapter (Genesis 7:24). Notice with this flood of Noah, the waters receded over a period of time, compared to the waters from the overthrow (Katabole) of the first earth age; when GOD spoke and they receded instantly.
4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
Ararat refers to the high ground. This occurred on the Sabbath. Compare to Genesis 7:4.
5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
The only day named that was not on a Sabbath.
6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:
Window (challôwn) = piercing of the wall. Compare to Genesis 7:11 (not Genesis 8:2). Same as Joshua 2:18, Joshua 2:21, 1 Kings 6:4, Ezekiel 40:16, Ezekiel 41:16, Ezekiel 41:26.
7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
Raven: an unclean bird. See Leviticus 11:15, Deuteronomy 14:14. Also a symbol of satan (darkness, uncleanness). See also Job 1:7, Job 2:2. Notice the Raven was sent first before the dove (symbolic of the HOLY SPIRIT). Again, the raven is symbolic for satan and as we know from our FATHER's WORD, he (satan) is the one who will appear first (before the TRUE CHRIST), once that great war of heaven breaks out mentioned of in Revelation 12:7. Again, satan appears at the sixth trumpet while our TRUE CHRIST doesn't return until the seventh trumpet. See also "A Warning Against The Rapture".
8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
Dove: a clean bird. See Deuteronomy 14:11. Again, a symbol of the HOLY SPIRIT (light). See Genesis 1:3-4.
9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
Notice the dove (symbolic for the HOLY SPIRIT) came back because she noticed it was not quite ready. GOD always leads, guides, and directs at the perfect time and away from death and decay. Exactly why we should never be afraid to put our trust in HIM.
10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;
Another Sabbath. The eighteenth day of the eleventh month. Remember seven represents spiritual completeness. Again, our TRUE CHRIST returns at the seventh trumpet.
11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf (newly sprouted) pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
Notice this dove brought back a newly-sprouted olive leaf. Again, this lets us know that this flood was not the same as the one mentioned of in Jeremiah 4 (when heaven and earth were darkened and everything was destroyed, i.e. the Katabole) because Noah's flood certainly did not darken heaven and also no olive tree and leaf would have been able to grow in such little time as this one did in this flood of Noah. See also Zechariah 14.
12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.
The twenty-fifth day of the eleventh month.
13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.
I.e. of Noah's life. Note six very important dates: Genesis 8:13 (here the drying of the waters). Exodus 40:2 (the setting up of Tabernacle by Moses). 2 Chronicles 29:17 (the sanctification of the cleansed-up Temple by Hezekiah). Ezra 7:9 (the going up of Ezra). Ezra 10:17 (The giving up of strange wives). Ezekiel 45:18 (the offering up of a bullock in Ezekiel's future Temple).
14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.
The completion of one solar year, plus ten days from Genesis 7:11. Notice this was the completion of one solar year, not one lunar year. As CHRISTians, we are children of the day (light), so therefore spiritually, we should be going by the solar calendar which represents light (CHRIST), not the lunar which represents darkness (satan). Again, all prophecies given concerning CHRIST are given in days-solar, while all prophecies given concerning satan are given in months-moons-nights-darkness. The moon calendar is nothing but a chaotic mess that constantly changes each year, while the solar calendar is perfect and complete.
15 And God spake unto Noah, saying,
Compare to Genesis 7:16, Genesis 8:1.
16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.
Always let GOD lead the way in your life.
17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
GOD cleansed the earth (ʼerets) and it was so. Here we see flesh given a new start.
18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:
19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.
20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
Notice this is the first time an altar is mentioned in our FATHER's WORD. Remember from the last chapter (Genesis 7:2) Noah took the clean animals by sevens, while the unclean animals by twos.
21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour (rest, acquiescence); and the LORD said in his heart (Figure of speech, condescension, and for emphasis), I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
The LORD's covenant with Noah was unconditional in connection with the earth (ʼerets). Never again would the earth (ʼerets) be cursed for the sake of the adamic people.
Asswaged (shâkak) means subsided.
